Last year, the Rangeview girls varsity softball team ended its season with an 8-7 overall record.  The lady Raiders have gotten ready to suit up and take the field again to produce a championship winning season. With the new season comes new challenges and for these Raiders it comes as a new coaching staff with a new approach to the sport.

Like all teams at this school every player wants to win. Junior varsity shortstop and second base Andee Lee said, “It’s gonna be pretty good; we have different motivations this year that will benefit the softball program.”

There is an expectation to get better according to junior pitcher and first baseman Jessica Hankins saying, “In softball, we really do need to improve.“

With new players this year comes new talent to be used on the field. Some people may say that the coaching staff shall be making the most of the incoming players.

Although students can’t or don’t attend every or any game it doesn’t mean they don’t get any support.

“Being a student at this school, “ said junior and fan Isaac Jaramillo, “ it is always a great thing to see your sport teams giving it their all and winning just tops it all off.”

The new coaches have already gotten a liking to the team according to some of the players.

Under the guidance of their Coach James, it seems that the players are liking the new coaches.

“Our coaches are pretty cool…” says junior varsity first baseman and pitcher Jessica Hankins.

Here at Rangeview, success is a result that comes with effort, and Softball is pushing to make that expectation into a reality.

The Rangeview Softball team had a two day tournament in Loveland over the weekend, losing 3 out of 4 of their games, but they hope to bounce back in an away conference game tomorrow, September 11 against Brighton high school at 7:00pm.
